Education Scholarships: helping the girl child access quality education

749 girls helped to get access to quality uninterrupted formal education by providing tuition scholarships and scholastic materials.

Addressing the COVID-19 school closure effects

These are some of the Child Mothers, who got pregnant during the long COVID-19 lock-down and school closure, and have been re-enrolled / returned to school under our "Resilient Girls’ Education Fund" program. Through this program, we support such girls to, not only return to school, but ensure that they receive the resources they need to thrive.

Girls to Lead Africa Class of 2021 Graduation

Safe Spaces for Girls: Girl Safe Boda

Girls to Lead Africa recruited 300 Girl-Safe Bodas and gave them reflector jackets for easy identification by the girls and community members. We launched Girl-Safe Boda to help prevent teenage pregnancies and child marriages.

Creating Girls Safe Spaces

There is nothing as empowering as speaking to the people who have authority, mandate and jurisdiction plus resources to handle your problem. During our child protection and rights engagement days, the girls interact with the Kanungu Police Post Heads, District Police Commander, Probation Officer, Family and Children affairs Officer and the Principle Community Development officer. It is a wonderful safe space.

Incubating Quality Women Leaders

Girls to Lead Africa Founder - Kansiime, staff and delegates at the parliament of Uganda. GTLA is a Leadership Incubator whose goal is to increase the number and quality of women leaders by incubating, nurturing, grooming and mentoring girl leaders in Middle school and High school.
